There are no pictures this week for some odd reason. Guess I
have just been busy with other projects. We are getting geared up for our CRMI
Fall Conferences. Yes, plural. We re having new Chaplain conferences in both Texas
and Arizona this year. Caring Resources Ministries International is an amazing
organization which places chaplains/ministers in RV resorts throughout the
country. So, if you want to spend the winter months in the warm climate in an
RV setting and you have a heart for the Lord as well as an RV, check out our webpage
at crmiintl.org. Fil out interest application and you will be on your way –
perhaps we will see you in either South Texas or Arizona this winter!
It is still hot here in S Texas, but the mornings and late
evenings are getting cooler. This morning was lovely – a cool breeze and no
humidity. We again saw Mama whistler duck on our side of the lake with her 4
babies, basking in the morning sun. Last
week as we went out the door to go to church, I heard a bit of commotion next
door – Mama and her ducklings were resting under the steps of the trailer next
door. I guess we startled them as they
waddled very quickly towards the lake, stopped and looked at us as if to say “why
did you disturb us”? Such small
pleasures that God has provided for us to give Him praises for.
The next big distribution in the colonias is coming up in a
few weeks. We will be able to (through
the generosity of all of you) provide enough school supplies for all the kiddos
heading back to school. We also have a generous
supply of beans and rice, canned goods and clothing to serve all of those who
attend from the surrounding colonias. Last year we had over 400 attending –
what a blessing that God provided enough for them all. It is going to be a
great day with gospel music, a wonderful meal, and smiles for everyone.
We are patiently waiting to have our shower replaced
tomorrow – we have had this project on the agenda for a while but our handyman
has been very busy. I am looking forward to not having to crawl over the side
of the tub to take a shower, but certainly not looking forward to the mess. I
do not like upheaval at all. Add to that the fact that I have a pipe phobia
(yes there is such a thing – no name for it as it is particularly rare) and do
not want to see any pipes showing anywhere during the process. Our youngest daughter
has the same condition coupled with the phobia of strange bathrooms. It is said
that it is genetic.
This morning Pastor Robert continued his sermon series on reclaiming
clichés. Have you ever heard,” let God and let go”? We often say this when
things are not going so well for us like relationship, family, or financial
issues. Are we getting in God’s way? Let
go and let God seems to sell God and our faith short. Does the Bible really say
let go and let God? John 15:1-8 seems to point that way. Verse 5 indicates that
we can do nothing without the Lord. This verse is taken out of context. Life in
Christ is demanding - He is going to push us in the direction that He wats us
to go. Referring to the Scripture for today, He is pushing us to produce fruit.
Life in Christ is also difficult because it is difficult to meet the
expectations that He has set for us. We are human – we fail because we
encounter struggles. Life in Christ is also a duel partnership. He is a part of
our life just as we are a part of His. If we remain in Christ, He will remain
in us. Let God and hold on – not let God and let go!!!
Have a wonderful blessed week – go with God and do not let go!!!
